Community
Some friendships don’t need you to talk each day, but still pick up right where you left off. Free to show up just as you are, no explanation needed.
These three tigers are at ease, not actively interacting, but doing their own things together in community. This is a way I like to spend time with my friends, that makes me feel loved, just the way I am.
Growing up I always felt different to my peers. Instead of a big circle of friends I formed the kinds of close friendships that often last a lifetime. I moved a lot and did not get to see my friends as often as I wanted, yet we still kept in touch and when we are together it feels like no time has passed. Additionally, finding an online community where I feel truly understood was life changing.
This is a part of my „Floating Tiger“ series, five paintings that process the autism diagnosis I got at 27. Finding myself and truly embracing my neurodivergence was freeing, exhilarating, healing, devastating, and connecting. Each aspect is painted as a tiger out of its element - floating, adapting, strong and resilient. This series is for every person that felt different and lost at one point in their lives, you are pushing through boundaries that are invisible to the world. Embracing and accommodating yourself is a long process but now you have a community.
This painting will add a pop of color to your home and is sure to brighten up any room you place it in. Let it remind you of your own strength one day at a time.
