Free to Move
Enveloped by the water, embraced by flowers - free to stretch a wide as you truly are.
Allowing myself to move freely when I need it, is having a monumental impact on my wellbeing. It was one of the first things I embraced, about being autistic and I slowly started showing this part of myself more.
This self-stimulatory behavior called „stimming“ is not only repetitive movement, it is listening to your favorite song on repeat or watching the sun sparkle on the water surface, anything that invokes the senses can be a "stim". It is the reason my art style involves creating so many textures, layers, sparkles, and colors - to invoke the eye of the viewer in lots of interesting ways.
This is a part of my „Floating Tiger“ series, five paintings that process the autism diagnosis I got at 27. Finding myself and truly embracing my neurodivergence was freeing, exhilarating, healing, devastating, and connecting. Each aspect is painted as a tiger out of its element - floating, adapting, strong and resilient. This series is for every person that felt different and lost at one point in their lives, you are pushing through boundaries that are invisible to the world. Embracing and accommodating yourself is a long process but now you have a community.
This painting will add a pop of color to your home and is sure to brighten up any room you place it in. Let it remind you of your own strength one day at a time.
